First started picking about 5 months ago and learned alot from this site. Made picks from sawblades and paperclips and anything i could get my hands on, but I am trying to move up to electric and snapguns. In Wal-Mart, they sell a small electric shaver, which is only about 5 bucks. I bought one because i was curious as to the low prices. So one day i started using it and noticed the motion. Side to side; that would work great for a mechanical pick. So I took off the head and am down to the small metal rod (plus a little plastic thing and a spring to keep the plastic thing up.)
The small metal rod in the middle moves left and right parallel to the top of the shaver.
Now, the seemingly more difficult part for me... What kind of tip should i put on it, and how should I go about doing so?
I am afraid to solder or weld or melt anything to it right away. Would there be a really good item that could simply clamp onto the tip?
If needed, I could post more photos, but my camera kind of sucks and gets blurry when closer than about half a meter.
