Pickgun

Postby eddy22 » 4 Sep 2006 20:49

Hi guys, im very new to this site but am enjoying every moment of reading about locks a lockpicks. I am interested about pick guns. I saw a video on you tube of a guy picking 6 locks small and large. How does the pick gun allow you to open small locks when the tension wrench and gun pick dont fit in together? what is the answer to this?
thanks for your help
cheers

Well you would normally pick small locks as they are easy,

There is also a technique called shimming that can be used,

A tension wrench can be used on any part of the keyway so you can actually tension the lock on the top of the keyway and fit the pick blade in no problem but as i say they are easy to pick,

Guns are realy a lockie tool and not for hobby/sport pickers but if you have the money and want a paly for a few days ....... you can also make one out of various things if you are so inclined,

I found a pick gun really frustrating, I tried one before learning to pick and got no where. I would have a bash at picking by hand, its more of a feeling of achievement when you defeat a lock and when you go back to pick guns some time after you seem to have much more success.

Southord do both mechanical and electric versions but shrub has a good point, if you’re a land lord or something in a hurry then maybe worth a bash for £40.
