I was considering purchasing a snapgun to see how useful one could be (now all you guys who say that a gun is for people w/o skills...well, I don't want to hear that...) and was wondering what some people's opinions on them were.
Are they worth the relatively inexpensive price for one? Do they really make things quite easier? Thanks.

For a lockie well maybe for a hobby picker no point,
I only have a manual gun and use it to loosen up sticky pins ready for picking and its very good at that and well worth the money as for useing them for the intened use well yes they are of course useful but do take some practise,
If you have the cash laying around grab one, if you are hobby picking or would have to save for one dont bother,
Have a search on site for like minded threads, theres quite a few

now all you guys who say that a gun is for people w/o skills...well, I don't want to hear that
There for people without skills who are interested in hobby picking... now go cry becuase i said it.
There intended to open a lock fast.. with the given skill for a locksmith to make a lcokout faster more efficient and there for get called back if a similiar instance happens again.
I'm suprised shrub kept cool, i can;t stand when people come in here insisting we respond based on there command.. sorry, go to your parents for that.
Buy a pick set and practice, there a waste if your not a locksmith, Sorry for being harsh but thats the truth.
And try not to tell people what you want to hear becuase they will tell you the truth. sorry bud its life.

To me, my hobby with locks and picking is not just about being able to pick open a lock (although it is what I spend 99% of my time doing), but playing around with all the different tricks to open particular locks. Bumping, bypassing, etc are all interesting to me, however I do enjoy picking the most. So, if you want to try opening locks with a gun for your hobby, go for it.
That being said, I have little interest in a snap gun, and may never buy one. But if one was offered to me for a stick of gum, I would certainly accept it and play around with it.

um, I wasn't commanding anyone dude. I was just saying that if that's what you think I already know what you're going to say, by all means yell at me if you want (not that you did, you were very calm, LOL). I am a hobbyist that practices with normal picks quite frequently...so I'm not looking for an easy way out.
So, I do have a pickset, and I do practice, and I'm not some lazy 10 y/o that wants something to "open all locks known to man", which of course is impossible.
Thanks for the advice guys though. I actually do appreciate it...many a critique is good advice.

No prob sorry for the flame.. i am an @$$ sometimes and will openly admit it, if i do flame, just ignore it Best of luck with the snap gun.. there is also mods you could conjure up, so as far as a hobby, modding it would be hobby related, so thats a thoguht i didn;t take into concideration

For what they cost they seem like a worth having laying about, I have had more success with an electric version though. If these tools save you from calling out a por at any time they have paid for themselves.

Hi there Amp.
I got a pick gun in a package deal and must say it is another tool in the box .
I have used it on a few pratice locks and it works! quite strange at first but soon got the hang of it.
Also i am thinking of modding mine to work strike down.
There is a mod on this site so it can tackle the Euro/U.K locks with upside down keyway.
Regards Toddtek
