Pick Gun Modification

Tool recommendations, information on your favorite automatic and/or mechanical lockpicking devices for those with less skills, or looking to make their own.

From what I've heard about European keyways, pick guns were made for generously warded Kwiksets  Holding the pick gun upside down is awkwards and makes your dexterity be off due to the awkwardness when you strike the pins. You'd be better off getting one of the long metallic cylindrical electric pick guns, that's what I use for upside down key ways because the button in the center makes it ideal.

Hi SCAMPDOG

You could always try and make your own picks out of hacksaw blades for pick gun .and have different thicknesses for different locks. just an idea :)

I've got a BPG-10 gun, and i find that holding it upside down when working with inverted locks works perfectly fine. By using thumb and middle finger to 'grip' the handle and a palm flat against the back of the gun, good picking is possible, at least for cheaper locks.

problem can be is that with some locks here in australia, namely gainsborough tri-locks, the cylinder is upside down, and the handle that retracts the latch is right above the door, effectively stopping any attempt at upside-down pick-gunning. I just ordered a dino pickgun (removable cover: easily modifyable) from our suppliers for investigating this method.
