I know this post is in a older thread, but dogpile.com really has some great info on tubular locks in the video section

heres a little trick a locksmith buddy of mine showed me....I dont do it because my tubular lock pick works great but...
dont use that tightening collor at all.... put a rubber band around the the front of the pick just forward of the collor.... {not using the collor at all]..
it all works on the tight rubber band ...and each pick has a little spring action its self. and seems to work well. {for him} but maybe for you to.
I have not noticed any problems with my pick. I got from southord.
