more then not really... a plug spinner is used when you pick a lock to the opposite direction need ... rather then re-pick the lock the other way... you simply insert plug spinner and turn it the other way.

ie. you picked the lock clockwise but to unlock it you need the plug to turn CCW well twist your spinner to the right, insert to keyway, release spring mechanism... door unlocked

Why do you ask anyways?

It's a plug spinner, when you pick the lock on a door the wrong way you can use the plug spinner to quickly spin the plug in the right direction to unlock the door without having to re-pick the lock in the correct direction. The spring tension is so strong that the top driver pins will not have enough time to drop back down into the plug while being rotated.

I actually have one and it's a great tool. Very easy and straight forward to use, got it on my first try. But you have to be careful not to over wind the thing or the tip that is inserted into the keyway can become warped. I think the thing is just made of thicker spring steel.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

ya I had a towtruck unlock my car 99jetta and he had this fancy key to pick it. he did use a tension wrench to of coarse..
when he first picked it he went toward the lock postion then he had to re pick the other way... in my eyes I wonder if the spinner is kinda a waste of money for the pros out there to spend their hard earn money.. took him a extra few seconds to re do..

sometimes a lock will be much easier to pick one way than the other, i would say that every pro should have one.

not much good to hobby pickers though.

A must for an auto lockie i think, i use mine all the time,

The advantage is that the Dino has a stronger and wider blade which fits the keyways better and the mech is a good strong one,

Lets keep all auto talk away from this please,
