Safe ventures is my preferance and ie heard of the turner getting stuck in locks but have no personal experiance of the turner tool,

My prefererence of curtain pick will always be the cb tool as still the most versatile tool to use on the door, though if on a budget but wanting same versatility, then the francis tool.
They are the only 2 curtain picks that will pick all they come across in a skilled hand.

decoders will always be safeventures, but you have to realise that on the whole, these are 1 decoder to 1 model of lock, IE , 3 different chubb decoders, 5 different ERA decoders for the different models, worth their weight in gold, but at between Â£240 and Â£750 each decoder, its important that you know what you need before you buy.

I've just had a look on the CB website and it has so many different models to choose from. It's best to get the standard 5G pick?
What about the different wires etc that you can get?
So with practise I could use this on alot of mortice & BS locks?

To kick you off you require the 5g and 7g tools, the F wire , The L wire , The S wire as well as the standard wires that come with the picks, if you want to pick the chubbs then the E series pick and the E wire too, if alot of RKS locks in your area, then the RKS tool also.

Each lock has its own picking process that needs following, so know you wont buy these picks and be able to start opening BS locks, until you understand the lock and its individual construction,thus recognising its best picking process.

with time and understanding and alot of practice you will enjoy some success, look to months even years to gain consistent competent results, not days, but really enjoyable time if you enjoy picking and the challenge.

So with the F, S, L and standard wires, just for use with the 5G pick, will this allow for a wide range of locks?

Is there a list of locks it is capable of opening (with the additional wires) as I wouldn't mind placing my order asap?

The S wire is for use with the 7g pick on the new securefast,the rest are for use with the 5g pick the F wire on fortress and the L wire on new legge .

you will need to prove to chris belcher and to duffels that you are a trading locksmith and provide training proofs that you are a trading locksmiths, ie , yellow pages advert and trade references, otherwise they wont normally supply picks, without such proof.

union, old legge , era ( not fortress) , yale , avocet , walsall. you will struggle to get chubb with it, and chubb take quite some time to crack even with correct pick and wire, and of course wont get the new bs locks without the specific wires, as these locks were designed to beat current tooling, so the wire upgrades are required.

start with ERA as easiest of bunch, then legge and progress one lock at a time.
