Hey,
I have for a very long time attempted to open various locks of mine with raking and single-picking. never have i succeeded (except for a desk wafer) in opening the lock.
I have read the MIT guide and many others and have attempted for 6 months now, to no avail. I am getting the feeling that my technique is wrong.a
therefore, i have resorted solely to raking because it seems as though it is just as effective, using less time. Needless to say my raking sucks. So i can only assume that i am raking incorrectly. I have tried the Dyno Kwik-pick and that is a waste of 20 bux, and am thinking about using an electric pick or pick gun--issue is i dont have a dremel or grinder.
It is terribly frustrating, i love using locks and seeing how they work but i can never seem to get it correctly.
therefore, after hours of reading and months of practice, i am asking for your help
Can anyone explain
1) the correct technique to rake?
2) Is there an advantage to using an electric rake?
3) is there a snap gun to be made without dremel tools or black mallets (i saw the sticky)
4) The proper technique for bumpkeying? my bumpkeying is also unsuccesful. i am trying the pullout method and i can never get the lock to turn. I purchased my key on bump-j.com
thank you very much--it is much appreciated
