New dremel - Hope I did the right thing...

Postby Olson Burry » 19 Jul 2008 11:22

Went out today with some money in my pocket for supplies - glue, blades etc. Thought if I found the right one I'd buy a dremel for around £40.

I had my heart set on the dremel 300 but could I find it anywhere? Focus. For £50. pfft.

I wouldn't have minded but even after I gave all my charm and even said to the guy I could get it cheaper on line and could I have a discount (£5/£10 would have done me) It was a no. Also they dont sell the spare bits for it there and they have to be ordered on-line anyway. Apparently.

I went everywhere and even my favourite little hardware shop didnt have it, or had cheap knock offs without variable speed which looked quite tacky. In fact dremels seem to be quite hard to come by down here...

So I came back empty handed and in a momentary burst of frustrated ingenuity I've just placed an order on amazon. It was £31.99inc delivery.

I dont even know if its any good. I should have asked the good people here first but please dont tell me I've shot myself in the foot. That would be a crap end to the day.

Cheers!

Its a corded version so it should last a long time. I have the cordless type and I killed the battery in just one month. Now it wont even take a charge.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

we all try our hardest at what we do, it's the great ones that understand its not what you do, it's how you do it and accomplish it and embrace there strength despite anyone's opposition.
