Return it, and buy some picks.
We prefer to use picks to open locks, thats more of a locksmith tool..

When I insert the pick in a lock I feel if the pins are hard to move upward. If they move easily I set the tension to the lowest if the pins are hard to move I set the tension to medium. Very rarely do I use the tensio to the maximum.

hi i brought a Brockhage pick gun a while ago and it works pretty well, i still prefer to use the picks first but its not a bad tool just have to give some quick trigger action

haha good point, I would rather have a pick set than the gun.
