hands up all those who have hit a bump key with a screwdriver really that many i was in the man cave a while a go ,thinking about bump hammers , i have a brockhage hammer and its the best Ive seen (so far) i have tried to replicate it results , with items that could be found any were and the best i could come up with is well look at these photo and tell me what you think http://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac15 ... 040004.jpghttp://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac15 ... 040003.jpghttp://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac15 ... 040002.jpghttp://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac15 ... 040001.jpgnow i know what you are thinking ,great another guys cut up a innocent chopping board and posted in our forums ,but i cut up a screw driver as well and i think thats new and it does work, not as good as the brockhage hammer but better than just a screwdriver do you seen the fall style pick in these pictures i made that tonight and its the first time i have used a pick like this and i think it awesome that is all

a little janky, but no offense it's a great thing to be making your own tools...much easier to just find materials and save the cash. little bit of paint, i bet no one would tell that you made this on your own. also, yes the screwdriver handle is the quintessential key hammer, so your modification just kinda makes...sense.

i'm not offended, but i did look up the meaning of janky on urban dictionary http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.p ... =janky, and i hope you mean't definition 4 , But the main thing is it works,as you can see by the photos i have one of the two commercially sold bump hammers (brockhage and i think the other is the tomahawk) and as a home brewer, i think i need a original to compare my results ,to be able to gauge my prototypes with the accepted standard so i know how they if it worthy to share or if it should be binned ,but thanks for your comments box boy

I think he meant jEnky, not jAnky. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=jenkyI like your hammer, looks pretty good actually, but yeah, anything home made, Macguyvered together, jury-rigged, improvised, duct taped together or any rough prototype can be called jenky. but if it works it works, right? to clarify, yes...anything put together from other parts is janky/jenky .... that has nothing to do with its utilitarian ends. i'm in the middle, today, of making some jenky tools myself. then it's time to try and format this camera and post a few pics. if it can be made, the money can be saved.
