Pro Keychain Lock Pick by Ideal Creations

Is this a good set for beginners? I'm open to suggestions on better sets for beginners but I like how you can open cars with this and the portability of it. I've picked using a bobby pin and homemade tension wrench on nice padlocks ,so I'm looking for a nice set so I can open doors and various locks. Thanks for your time.

No. Those all in one keychain pick sets are the worst thing ever for a beginner because you won't learn the right way to pick. If you already know how to pick, they're an acceptable backup, but the feel and feedback is marginal at best. Why do you want to open doors by the way?

I want the challenge, the doors would of course be my own. I was thinking the slim line nine piece set.

Please consider purchasing the 9pc slimline set. You will be happier in the long run. I have the same set in my tool box and have 35 years experience. Learn to gently use the tools and you will be amazed at how quickly your success rate developes. Had the Ideal Creations Pro and it lacked quality or endurance. Hope this helps.

hey guys i just ordered one of the keychain lock pick pros and the 12 peice pro set and i've been hearing different things some say that there total trash but i really just bought the keychain for a backup and the real pick set so that i can really learn how to pick. ive been trying to pick a few masterlocks with out any luck but i was using bobby pins and dentist tools lol but since ive seen what ppl have been saying about them it got me kinda nervous that i just spent the money on this stuff and i've seen post saying that it took forever for them to get the products from them (ideal creations.net) i bought the combo set like i said before. im really interested in lock picking as a hobby and maybe later on ill make it a career. i figured this would be my first set to see if i can really do it and do it well but what im really trying to ask is. 1. is there 12 piece pick set and the keychain pro junk? 2. if anyone bought anything from there how long did it take to get the stuff i live in ILL and i kno its coming from TX( i ordered it tuesday but i think it was to late to ship it the same day) . so what im trying to get outta this is just to help stop freaking out that i spent 50 bucks on total junk and that im wasting my time with the stuff. so if anyone has any experience with ideal creations please get back to me id really appricate it

Babb you tried canceling the order? What happens if you refuse delivery? I haven't gone through this company myself; I went with a site suggested on here that people had vouched for and if you can by out of the order at the other site, you might be better off doing the same.

I'm new to the site, I just had to chime in and let people know about my experience with Ideal Creations

I purchased the keychain pro from ideal creations before reading this website like an idiot.

My order was placed two weeks ago, I emailed lee@precisionshots.com with no answer. All I got was a paypal confirmation, but no delivery confirmation or anything else from ideal creations.

I received the keychain pro today (exactly 2 weeks later, so not THAT terrible, but long if you don't live in a third world country, I'm in Texas and the company is also in Texas, I can drive there in 4 hours), and I'm missing the DVD that is "supposed" to be included in the kit I ordered.

So, yes the company is probably not the best and I won't do business with them again, but the keychain pro eventually got to me, and after playing around with it for a while, it's not half bad. Of course, it's a tiny keychain 5pc lock pick set so don't expect to be opening every lock with it's wonderful feedback, it has it's major flaws, but I would think anybody would expect some trade offs when buying "a keychain pick set", as far as an emergency, very easy to carry, last resort pick, I think it's great. It's really small, and it got me into both my house doors, so in a jam, it's everything you should expect of a 2 inch lock pick set and maybe a little more if you are realistic.
