First, I am disheartened by the fact you think that people need to know about magstripes in a lock forum. Anyone servicing these locks should have the appropriate equipment and training to work on them. So the only people you would be encouraging are the people who want to use magstripe hacking for ill purposes. Also if they do not have 2600 already then bleh they really do not have much enthuisam to do this stuff so why hand things to them on a silver platter. If you are going to do things for ill purpose, well work it out yourself.

Havent posted or lurked in about a year. Just thought I would see if there was anything that would advance my picking. Unfortunately people like skold are still posting so I have to wade through way too much crap to get anything half decent. So yet again I will disable my account after this browse. Those who know me have my email/msn so please use that.

Wow.

Go Marso for making us sound useless and futile in our attempt to bring together a community for sharing information on a specific hobby/love/obsession.

Are we not advanced enough? Because if thats the case, look at how long we've been up as forum. Not that long. Be patient. Sorry if we're not 'advanced' and 'elite' enough in our posts.

You were a good poster. You shared many a helpful tips and techniques. What brought on this sudden bout of hatred towards us at LP101?

I guess this should be moved to General Chatter if you or anyone else decides to respond.

For the record I do not hate lp101 at all. Mind you I did get sick of the same newbie posts over and over again. Just hate a select few (unfortunately most aussies) because they try to pretend to be better than they are. Do not help themselves and help others little. I also was very disapointed that complete newbies joined the advanced section ( i consider myself a newbie and thought I was misplaced ).

Posts such as this one annoy me alot because I am a whinning little wh0re but also because it encourages silver platter treatment on locks/devices that have very little place in hobbie or residential applications. I believe this sort of topics should be worked out by people and then their findings and actual give and take be shown. Not that I have read the article and weither or not people here could apply this knowledge. But my faith would be reinstated if there was actually an educated discussion and there is a demonstrated ability from people here to research and discuss such topics without expecting this information to be passed in one direction. Unfortunately I spent alot of time on this forum and I saw very little to no self development on these topics and when I did I saw it was people who had very questionable motives.

I think the above should answer your questions skold.

Again I learnt so much form people such as varjeal, pheniox, whitehat, chucklz, eric, jason, lockpickroy, macaba. This is but a very short sample and there were many more, and I would like to thank these people for their help.

Awesome article! as to marso, he doesn't understand that any hacker who understands the article isn't a script kiddy, and probably wouldn't have a malicious purpose. Some people forget that just because some information is deemed bad by society, doesn't mean it is so, and maybe an amatuer coder in here might want the information to make a mag card program for their own use. People who code like to code instead of buying software, and a lock picker should know that, otherwise marso might just own an electric pick, and snap gun, and never use hand tools, because he can just buy an automatic. In addition maybe not everyone interested is an avid hacker with a 2600 subscription
