Ok fair enough, i will remind you of that when you next tell a noob that his questions have already been covered in another thread and to search before posting

If this is not the proper procedure to continue on this post could you please inform me. should we contact a mod to delete the post and continue this conversation on an older post. just discontinue the idea process altogether. or should we do the honorable thing and commit seppuku for this profane act we have committed?

Ok, so here's the skinny.
The reason it's generally better to take these conversations back to the original thread is that by doing this, we end up with all pertinent information on the subject in one place. By and large, this is a better way to organize the site. It means that later on, when someone does search for this topic, they'll have an easier time of sorting through it all.
How many times have we all searched for a topic and found that there was 19 threads to go through just to find what we are looking for? The hope is to avoid this issue by keeping stuff in one thread.
Of course, it doesn't always work out that way, but it's always nice to try.
Having said that, I'm not gonna lock this thread. But if you all carry these ideas posted to the original thread, it's probably better for the overall tidiness of the site.
Cheers!

If you choose to commit seppuku, I would be happy to provide the frisbee.
If the OP would like, I can merge this thread with the other one on the subject.

DB.
I can appreciate that, but I didn't appreciate the tone of others - especially with no suggestions.
SFGOON.

Just on the slight off chance that you were hinting at me i suggest you read my first reply and note that it was of a great help, theres no need to be funny about things i wasnt talking to you anyway i was havinmg a joke with jordy,
When your quite not so new to site you will realise it is a great place to be serious but also a lot of laughs along the way its a good job jordy and i are mates or else he may have taken your attitude but then again i wouldnt have said it to you anyway.
I gave you 2 links one of which was a great one where this subject was spoken about in detail but you chose to ignore it, i know this as you then carried on posting stuff that was already suggested/worked out on that thread, i was merly trying to a) save you time and b) help you out without actually copying the thread to you.
I certainly hope you have not taken offence at my reply as that was not the intention, it was your tone of your last 2 posts that have spurred this one, lets all be friends eh.

I hope you didn't think I was completely serious as I too was joking ( I wouldn't really kill myself over an internet forum).
Yeah no ill intentions all around
All is cool.
FYI
Seppuku

Here is a rough sketch. The bic pen might be serrated like a turret of a castle.

No it isn't . It is basicaly an inverted snapper hooked to a pen. The pen directs the downward energy to the pins of a tubular lock.

Yes it is.
You push the needle down, and it snaps UPWARDS... the Bic pen is on the wrong side.
I have a few ideas for tubular locks - I'll get back to you when I've finished playing about.
