my homemade bump keys.... whats wrong with them?

Umm....did anyone else notice the Y11 bump key near the bottom in the second row from the right?

sometimes its just the timing and tension you have when turning the key. when i do it, i have the sensation of the key slipping out of my hand right after i hit it

It's the super secret master key to all cars, we aren't supposed to talk about it.

Perhaps if it were a big bigger, more solid, more heavy, and shaped like a brick. Then I'm sure it would open all cars

Ok ok enough is enough. The guy came with a question so either give him some useful input or keep thy fingers off the keyboard. I dont mind a bit newbie hazing but this thread is getting ridiculous.

huh.. i didn't even realize this thread got posted, as when i tried it just kept comming up as an error! haha... anyways, i since found that some of the keys were just plain terribly cut beyond repair.... others, needed deeper cuts with wider valleys.
and for the record, the shoulders (top and bottom) were completly removed.
with a little fine tuning and technique tweaking, i've gotten a bunch of them to work great.
HOWEVER..... shortly after i got them working, i got VERY bored of them and went straight back to picking... loads more fun :P (and my girlfriend doesn't wanna kill me for having to listen to me all night "klak.....klak....klak....klak....klak....klak....WHOO HOO!!.... klak... klak... klak...klak....klak.....")

yep, bumping gets boring VERY fast. Its something most of ur feel the need to try but once you realise just how easy it is its no longer a problem.

Actually I have never gotten tired of the subject. I still play with key design alot and I also do alot of thinking about bump proof lock designs. I guess for me it has just never been a cool trick that opens a lock fast. It has been about studying the hows and whys behind it, the traces left behind, methods to defeat it, etc. Overall I think it is a wonderful subject to study.

Ill agree the subject matter its self can be interesting. You have seen my concept for a bump proof pin. but as something to do it just lacks any reward after the 4th or 5th time for me.
