when i push the pick forward i end up moving the handle and not the needle. Has anybody had any success with one of these things. I got it as a freebee and i got excited because it's in the logo of this website (top left).[/b]

These are over hyped S rakes on steroids basically. They look neat, but they're not so practical. But hey, you can't beat free stuff! You would be better off using a regular rake though, or better yet a hook.

Sounds to me like you're hitting the back of the lock. Make sure you are resting it just underneath the pins, then move it back and forth gently. If you find it's tapping on something at the back, it's time to stop pushing.
Hope that helps.

Yep its just for that - raking ... good on cheap padlocks, disc-tumbler wafer desk/drawer whatever locks and maybe some kwiksets if you get lucky, but other than that a novelty. I always have to tighten down the screw pretty hard or else the pick will snap back into the housing unexpectedly...I also always have problems with the little screw that holds the actual pick to the plunger ... it loosens constantly [which I why I don't use it very often]. ~Grit.

Hi
could you put something round the thread of the screw to stop it from unsrewing itself?

I just remembered that when I used this pick I had the constant problem of the needle screw unscrewing itself ... if you're confident that you won't break the pick, or don't care, you could lock-tite it. Otherwise do what I did - carry a multi-tool / pocket screwdriver that allows you to re-tighten the screw. So glad to be beyond the KwikPick and off to better [HPC] stuff...

I was just going to post abou the constant untightening of the pick screw... i just do the same carry a multi tool. i never really use the dyno for more than just carrien in my pocket incase of emergency. But! if your craty duplicating the size..but not the thickness WAY TO THICK!! you can creat diffrent picks for it. just take out the pick trace of a hacksaw blade cut a blank and shape it into a pick... i would sugest a half diamond or a hook.. but its up to you. Also i seen in gone in 60 seconds nicholas cages uses it to somehow pick start the shelby cobra in seconds..well anyway atleast its in a movie??? but they flipped the spring so it shoots out kinda cool i tryed it but when retracted all the way the pick sticks out the top a little over all its handy to just have as a back up and not an actual picking tools for day to day use.
