I just recently saw a video of the dutch groop TOOOL where Barry showed a Pick Gun that was modified for european locks i.e. for pins mounted upside down. The original snapping motion of the gun is from bottom-to-top and for us "poor guys" here in Europe it should be from top-to-bottom.
Has anyone of you done such a modification? How could it work? It looks like Barry used the original screw holes to mount an additional part that holds the spring that defines the origin point somehow differently.
Generally I was a little bit disappointed about the general performance of the Pick Gun. On most of the locks I had access to the keyway was far too small to have enough room for snapping motion. Do you guys use a pick gun on european locks (EVVA, BURG, GEGE)?
I think I will have no choice than to develop my single pin picking skills further...

If you search this site you will find drawings for this modification.
As for how well they work, I'm told it's just practice, but it hasn't happened for me yet.
Single pin picking is better for your soul.

Thanks for the reply. I tried the search function first but to no avail. Maybe I´m using the wrong keywords.
Any chance for a "blind" to get a direct link?
BTW: single pin picking is definitly more satisfying at brings peache of mind.

Hold the pick gun upside down. It's just as steady with a bit of practice.
Some things may be pick proof, but everything can be bypassed....

how do you hold your gun upside down? i have to hold the gun in my hand as normal, and turn my full arm upside down(elbow to the sky lol) i cant control the gun if my hand is tha correct way up(my hand /wrist move with the 'snap')but my friend is opposite,it seems funny but what works for you, works for you.

I have tried with holding the gun upside down. I have gotten them a few times to work but more easy to just pick it manually. Did you do the mod yet? Let us know how you like it.

Perhaps you need to hang upside down in the doorway, then it won't be uncomfortable to hold the pick gun.

i've made this mod,i according to a thread i found when searching. works quite well, but i found it awkward in tight keyways,i ground down a spare pick to make it thinner, which helped a bit,but it wasn't long before i was back on my trusty hook and diamond, worth trying though.
there's no such thing as gravity. The earth SUCKS!!
