I will let this speak for itself.
I have ommited some details to comply with local laws.
Fill in the blanks yourself.

Hmm

The one I made seem to vibrate too fast at even 9 volts, 12 volts seems like overkill. Have you tried it on some locks yet?

Maybe if we drop the number of batteries down and add a metal spacer (something to continue the electrical connection) we could vary the voltage - raise the voltage to maybe 5-6 volt range.

I have one of these hummingbirds and i've not yet decided to alter it - I may try this out - but the batteries in this link are a bit expensive are they not? - I am also waffling about the idea of using an electric pic vs manual picking, i should pick pin by pin and practice practice practice ... but I like to experiment and to play.

Nope I have not tried it on locks I don't want to ruin it (I use it on my teeth) , no the batteries are not expensive...I got 12 for a dollar and yes you could put in a spacer and drop the number of batteries or use a 12 volt sub cell (you probably have one in a camera or a garage remote right now).
and I don't wanna ruin a perfectly good pick by cutting it up.

I just saw the 9 volt battery mod and thought it could be made easier and cleaner (no big ass battery and clip hanging off it.)

Where did you find batts that cheap? Thats amazing - not questioning you negatively, just want to get some. LOL - regarding the cutting of the pick - Wiper blades with the "tail end" mushroomed a bit should fit into the floss holder. BUT this is speculation - i'll try it out tommorrow - maybe hit a dollar store for some cheap batteries.

A bit off topic - sorry in advance.
And you actually use this on your teeth - How is it, I have a floss thing - would not call it a fetish, more like an obsessive tick - I have at least two spools on me or in my bag at all times.

Just to let you know a 23A 12 volt battery fits perfectly! you will need a metal spacer to make it fit the length of the compartment but the width is the same as a AAA 1.5 volt cell.
You even have room for a resistor in your spacer so you can try different voltages.

What if you used a variable resistor to regulate the amptitude of the vibrations? Once you found the ideal resistance you could use ohm's law to figure out what the ideal voltage would be.

Yeah I got the batteries in the dollar store.

I will look into the wiper blade thing...all my picks were made (carved) from hack saw blades so you can see how I may be reluctant to cut them up
I have a great link to some high res pictures of commercially available ($$$) lock picks next to rulers if anyone wants to use them for patterns to make thier own. FALLE-SAFE,Peterson,RYTAN and Lab.

When you say local laws what do you mean, local to you? or this site?

If you mean this site there is no reason whatsoever to hold back info on such toys.

When you say you have templates ar ehtey your own templates or ones from Zekes site that have been ripped on to a torrent site?

Rytan, Falle-Safe, LAB, Peterson? Links to a site with pictures of those next to a ruler. I'd bet my car he is talking about the super-secretive, never-seen-before site crypto.com.

Oh dear... what a huge secret.. can you imagine how many locks woulod fall prey to this devestating attack? Yup, very few would.

Watch out guys... I'm gonna post the |_|B3|2 1337 technique of opening locks using mazolla, and waffles soon, but it could be deemed too 31337 for public consumption and big brother could come after me!
