Haven't posted in a really long time. But in that time I've started my own buisness doing locksmithing. My latest job is fitting keys to an 88 winnebago. I have every lock done except the ignition. It is an 88 Winnebago RV with an in dash ignition. I thought for sure that a GM B10 blank would be the one. But it's not. I'm going to head over armed with GM A,C,E, and J keys to give them a try, but I'm having my doubts now. The ignition just WON'T pick because it has very little use on it (and I suck at sidebars!). I'd like to pick it to the acc. position so that I can push the retaining pin and remove the plug to fit the keys. But I think I might have to drill it (from the side). Any thoughts?

I would totally agree with you. But I'm not asking or revealling how to defeat the lock at all. I'm asking it any one has any ideas on what key (with no cuts) will simply fit down the keyway. If I had dishonerable intentions with this, I'd simply be asking where to drill. But I'm trying to save the plug. I'd be happy with a message to my account for a reply. I'm just simply stumped. I've got a call into the local Winnebago dealer and also to my old shop. My old boss was sure that the B10 was it. He's stumped too... he's also 2 hours away, so his help is purely by word of mouth. ??? I realize that this is a potential touchy subject though. So I tried to approach it in a non touchy manner.

You might want to rephrase it, then, since "I'd like to pick it to the acc. position so that I can push the retaining pin and remove the plug to fit the keys. But I think I might have to drill it (from the side). Any thoughts?" is pretty open-ended.

I've seen several with Renault ignitions in them also.
Posting a pic would be a tremendous help, otherwise, all we can do is guess.
