I was wondering which windshield wiper blades to buy for their inserts? For what make and year of car or truck?
Thanks

Theres no real way to find the right size wiper blade inserts by looking up vehicle make, model and year most likely. What you can do is buy three different brands of wiper blades and take them apart. Thats the only way to know for sure. But make sure to look and check to see that the wiper blades you are buying actually has the inserts, some blades dont have any steel inserts.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

People don´t buy them, they pick´em up from the trash can, or the street, and don´t worry about where they came from!

Ps. I personally like the ones from Airbus A380, or the Boeing 747-400F, I kid you not!

Before you pick a lock:
The first thing that you should do is check to make sure that
the lock is your's and secondly make sure its not in use.

I've said this before and I said it again: There is no point to buy those wiper blades.
Why? Because the price of one pair is usually between 5-20 dollars/euros. Just go out on a rainy day to a busy looking gas station and head to the trash bin. Usually I have found a couple of wiper blades per bin

Jaakko if you don't have an answer then don't reply, I am not asking if I should I am asking "READ MY POST"
NIC you are right on the money. We do need a thread for wiper blades were we can tell which ones to buy.
I just got some still in the package at Good Will 69 cents.. I have seen them at yard sales STILL IN THE PACKAGE.
Ok members people are willing to go out an buy wiper blades, I can't be the only person here that is willing to. But I don't wan't to unless I know which ones to buy.

it doesnt matter which brand year whatever you buy, they dont have years... just get any winsheild wiper pairs, then there is about 8+ feet of inserts no matter what kind you buy. theres two inserts in each windsheild so multiply the length of one by 4. besides, you end up finaly getting what you want, and you only make like one or two tention wrenches....

The only thing to watch out for, is that you can see the inserts on the outside of the wipers.
Some cheap wipers overhere in Europe have a single steel insert inside the rubber strip, this is way to thick for picks.
It's also regular steel, not stainless.
Just my 2 cents

ok, here is the best advice that I can give. Yes you can pick them up on a rainy day in the trash at either a gas station or outside an auto parts store such as nappa or advanced. Yes you can also get them at a junk yard, or at an oil change place that does wipers. You can get them everywhere but that doesn't answer your ? does it? As far as buying them, because in a pinch when I didn't have time to go hunt them and I just wanted some wrenches or whatever.... You can go to wal-mart. Get their house brand wich is less than 3 bucks a blade and they do have inserts. The packaging is red and black, don't remember the name sorry. But I do know if you ask someone at walmart they will tell you thier brand, or just check the price they are the cheapest. I recommend getting (if you are going to buy them) a single blade in 16,22,and 24-28" long. The reason being that they use different thicknesses for each of those sizes, so the 16 makes great mirco tension wrenches, the 22 is standard, and the 24-28 makes good thick ones, or makes great stock material for making picks. All in all, you can get a complete set of picks and tension wrenches for about 10 dollars worth of wal mart brand wipers. So if your time is worth more to you than 10 bucks, (like mine is sometimes) then just go buy them and save yourself the time.
I hear what you are saying.....that doesn't mean I agree with you....Just that I am nodding my head to placate you and silence your futile attempts to win the argument.

Knows-Picker YOU ROCK!!! Thank you very much.
I will look for the 22" for now. And pick up differant sizes, if I need them.
I might look for some 24-28 for Bogota Picks.
I did not know that Wall Mart had a house brand, ill need to look again..
Thanks again that is a lot of help.

No problem man, just make sure you get the ones in the red and black packages. Those are the ones that I get and I know they have them as I just changed my wiper blades again this weekend, and bought the 2 larger sizes just for the metal shims in them. it was worth the extra 6 buck for me anyways.
Also, if you are interested, you can always go to
http://www.smallparts.com and order the 1/2 * 24" .020 (slimline) or .025 for standard pick material. with shipping you pay 30 bucks roughly, but you can get 40 incredible picks that will last alot longer than the hacksaw blades. This link I think I got from Romstar, but I could be wrong. I have used them 2 times and both times they did great. Once your on the site put in "Spring Steel Shim Stock Strip" or part #FSS-20/08-24 that is the slimline but that will bring you to the page that has all of the options on it for the shim strips. I order the 24" and just cut them down to 6" blanks. Then with the 1/2" thickness you can make 2 picks out of each blank so 80 out of the 24". I did this with my first order, but the second order I left at one pick per blank to leave a longer handle.
Hope this helps, and just have fun picking. I know I probably don't have to say this, but remember to only pick locks that you own..

remember to only pick locks that you own..
I have been here long enough to know that. And don't pick locks you depend on.
