Internal parts of the multipick

Postby MisterQ » 26 Nov 2008 10:17

I have disassembled my multipick and I have taken some photo.
The quality of the pick gun is very good but the price is very high for it.

Did anyone have a datasheet about the motor?
The motor is made by "ecap"

It says "escap" and an auction on ebay turned me towards the company "Portescap."

You should look at http://www.portescap.com/ for more information.

Thank you Safety0ff for searching.
But I don't think that it is the exact type of motor because the windings are different and the revolution speed is to low with 4000-5000 rpm.
The pickgun has a high frequency vibrating motion (approx. 44,000 vibrations/min)

Are you sure 1 rotation is equal to 1 vibration? The mechanical connection between the pick head and the motor will modify the ratio between output speed of the motor and pick head.

That pdf doesn't show the "exact" model because it only shows the 228P 228E and 416SP (24V) winding models (the one in the pick is 232P.) I'm pretty confident the motor is in that family, it could be discontinued or custom. As far as the speed goes, it would be in the 4900 to 10000 range.

Anyways, I got to go to class now, cheers.

Yes, I'm sure that 1 rotation is equal to 1 vibration.
Do you know the pickgun by wendt? She has much less power than the multipickgun.
Listed below you will find a link:

http://ziehfix.de/shop/index.html?lang=en-us

In the tree on the left side select "manipulation" and than looking for "ZIEH-FIX® Electro-Pick Set II"

The model uses a "speed 400"- motor, the revolution speed is app. 13.000 rpm.
This motor is very cheap and common used in the model making.
I expect that the speed of the motor has to be higher in the multipick.
I will contact the company "Portescap" next week and ask for a data sheet.
If I have more information I will let you know.

The motor for the Wendt seems to have more power ( watts) and probably consumes much more power and has less efficiency.

Let me know what information you get from Portescap.

Can you explain how the power is transfered to the pick head (I can't figure it out by looking at the pictures. :? ) For the Wendt it sounds like they're using and eccentric weight on the motor. Can you explain what the piece in the picture below does? I know the motor shaft fits into the hole in the square piece and turns something in there.

Alright, whatever, I was just going by the sticker:
Image
35 = Motor Diameter (mm)
N = Motor generation/lenght ( N = middle generation, normal lenght)
T = ?? maybe part above or below (but it's not special to the motor in the pick)
2R = Bearing type ( 2R = front and rear ball bearings)
32 = Commutation size & type/ magnet type ( all I know is it's graphite/copper commuation, not sure about magnet type)
232P = Coil type ( # of layers [first digit] , wire size, connection [letters])
17 = Execution coding (I don't know what this is)
