Hummingbird lock pick

Postby tloc3385 » 23 Apr 2011 2:06

Hey guys I found this diy online and didnt find it on here. So I figured i'd post it for you guys to check out. This is not my design nor am I trying to take credit for it. Here is the links for the step by step instructions and a video of it in use.

Again not my idea or video or diy instruction those are the work of the original authors. Let me know if any of you guys haveusedthese or made one and how well they work. I already ordered a hummingbird to make my own.

Looks like it is basically a home made Electric Pick Gun, I haven't made one or used one, so I cannot comment on the effectiveness of it.

I saw that exact tute a few months ago. I spent a week looking for the Hummingbird here in Sydney. They're either obsolete, or not shipped to Australia any more. Even on eBay there's only a couple listed, and they're going for $30+.

I'm not too sure of the longevity of the motor, though, when used at 9V.

I've got a few pager motors sitting next to me, and when I apply 9V for only a few seconds it gets blisteringly hot! Literally! Just burnt myself again testing it.

Yea I was worrying about the motor heat as well but on the you tube video the guy hadnt hooked up the 9 volt and it still worked pretty quickly. And yea oral b did discontinue this but its still readily availabe on amazon here in the states.
