Impressioning aid on ebay

Postby lock-ed » 2 Oct 2011 12:02

Came across this while looking for other stuff-I-did-not-know-that-I-needed

It seems like a vise-grip with some sort of mechanism on top. Maybe for the pull-impressioning method?

Anyone seen this tool before, and care to explain?

I really liked the simple handle attached to the file, might have to make one of those :D

I do it with a pair of needle nose vice grips and a swiss pippin file, no 4 cut. It's not an easy task, as my eyesight isn't that great and pin marks easily get lost in the other markings on the blade

I wish I could find mine, but I have some visegrips like those in the picture. The mechanism on the top is to slide into a clamp. This way you can clamp it to a bench, but still remove the pliers.
