Boda 429 pics

This is the most common deadbolt that we Finns have above our Abloy locks.
The name "boda" comes from Björkboda lock factory, est. 1732, still in business.
Boda is the old brand name, Abloy bought them, and the lock became Abloy 429.
Its an 8 lever lock with the bolt in the middle. You need a full 360 rotation to open the lock.
After successfully picking a couple leverlocks, I wanted to try this.
I know its way outta my league, so I made a sorta halt-cutaway. Half because the bolt hides 4 levers behind it.
There is a self impressioning tool for this lock, but it propably is considered advanced tool, so I would ask to post stuff like that on advanced forums.
My wires are really crude.
Anyhow, pictures:

Nice lock, thanks for the pictures Wizer.
In Italy we have "doppia mappa" locks too, they used to be the most common locks here. Now every new door has euro profile cylinders but it will take 100 years to replace all of them.

Cheers :)

I love locks like that the only issue is that I've seen keys horribly worn off. What's your expereince on that, I don't see enough to have more than an impression :)

Badly worn keys don´t open this lock, so I don´t usually see many of those.
Bigger problem with keys like this is bent/snapped bit on a key. Depending on cuts, just dropping the key on floor could bend or break the outmost bit.
I can´t cut these to code, so if one bit is broken, I copy that one bit from the other side of key. -The keybits are mirror image of each other.

The Boda 429 and it's siblings aren't that common here, and are mostly found in various types of lockers and gun cabinets. However, these are double throw but not mirror bitted (no need, it's not like you're going to unlock it from the inside :P )

You don't happen to have any spare levers for the 429, do you?
I got a Boda 451, which is essentially a 429, but it is a mortise lock with handle and lock cylinder as well. Quite unusual around here.

There aren't any rekeying kits available for the 451 that doesn't cost a fortune (about the same price as a new lock).

Sorry, I have no spare parts.
My best advice is to look for an old lock on internet auctions and use parts from that.
