I bought myself am ERA 5 lever lock to practice using by home made pick on, I don’t know the name of it as it didn’t seem to say it on the packaging. The main details of it are,
It’s the larger of the key shaft diameters (crap explanation I know)
Gold / brown case dimples on either side of keyway.
I mastered this one and then acquired another ERA again I don’t know the model, but the casing was very similar to the one above, the main difference is that it uses a smaller key.
What I want to know is, does anyone know what advantaged / disadvantages of the two key sizes give?
On the second lock the two levers which are closest to the bolt construction are held up by a ridge when the lock is in its unlocked state. I can’t see what this achieves and it just seems strange that it is used on the second lock but not on the first when in other ways they seem very similar.
Any input would be appreciated
Cheers
