abloy upper zero

anybody know the point behind the 7th disc on abloy always being a zero (unless it's a cam lock in which case the 5th is always a zero). I am just curious as to whether there's any good reason for that or not.

I believe it holds the disc blocking mechanism in the newer designs, and the locking bar in all designs. It stops it twisting.

zero disc

Maybe cos it makes you turn key all the way back (ie. descramble discs) and thus lock the lock before you can remove the key
And after 90 degree turn right key starts surely to turn cylinder.
Maybe there is other reasons also.
Impossible? Try again!

Abloy zero disc

I guess you are talking about Abloy disklock Pro and related Abloys rather than the classic. There's no requirement to have a driver disc in a given position but there must be at least one to pick up the return bars and also to ensure that the disc rotation is correctly initialised - i.e. the return bar starts turning as soon as the key does.
