Blindo-ALA lock?

Postby RangerF150 » 3 Sep 2004 17:19

I am still very much a n00b at lockpickin :-(
But i have a lock i used on my old truck with a mega big chunky chain , it's a Blindo-ALA lock .
It was a pretty dear lock , i got it from a local locksmith .

I just picked it :-)

But im a bit cheesed off , cos it was dear and a mere n00b could pick it in about 3-4 mins .

So i guess it's pretty much useless.

How do you guy's rate it as a lock , could not be up to much it i can pick it !

Locks, generally are not rated by there pick resistance, but there corrosion and destructive entry resistance.

scold is right, not many locks security rating comes from the pick resistance but to "Brute Force" entry, apart from that you might of had luck on your side...how many pins is it? I have never accually heard of that locks, can you get some pictures?

Yeah i did a search on the net for it , found nothing :-(
I will take a picture of it , gettin it on the net is the problem, i'll figure out somethin , will do ASAP .

Eh, luck , no ! I am able to pick it really quick now , have picked it several times , just gets easier and easier .

All that said i hear where you are coming from , it's a good lock in that it's pretty chunky ! There is a "plate" over the keyway which is free to rotate, i guess to stop drilling it .

So it looks like a strong lock and id say some sweat and an angle grinder might do the job ! But is sure is easy to pick :-)
Im havin fun with it !!!

Gonna check out where to upload a pick now .

Thanks guys for the insight .

Hope that worked !

The key is infront of it , i counted 6 pins , key is same length as a standard front door key .

Between the plastic cover and the *rotating plate* in front of the keyway , i can only just get the tension wrench in .
But that aint really a problem :-)

On the key is the text : Lucchetto Sicurezza and the ALA logo.
Yup , made in Italy !
