what locks to buy while visiting Denmark?

Postby Squelchtone » 17 Aug 2010 12:22

Hello,

Any members here from Denmark? I have a friend who is visiting Silkeborg right now and I wanted him to purchase some lock cylinders at the local locksmith (PTL Locksmiths). What manufacturers are common or available for sale in Denmark?

Thank You,
Squelchtone

Ruko sits on most of the market here in Denmark, when it comes to the Pin tumbler locks. Virtually all Danish homes have an Ruko lock their front door. I would argue that at least 75% of all quality locks here in the DK is Ruko. You can find a rare ABUS or Yale. But most Yale encountered nowadays are padlocks and Yale marketed in Denmark by Ruko. Medeco has started to try to get a foot in within the last few years, but I've never seen one in use, yet.
Or be lucky to come across an old thing like this, a 6 pin Yale from 1928 or around that time.
