I have a quick question folks, with euro cylinders, does it matter if its 45x45 or 28x28, will it still be 7 pin if that model has 7 pin on 45x45 version? or will it be less pins in the shorter versions?
Often sizes under 30x30 are too short to have all the pins. I know that's the situation by MulTlock and Titan locks for sure. Guess some others might be able to compensate but most designs won't.
Howdy all! just euro cylinder in general. when im ebay shopping the shorter cylinder are always cheaper. its especialy important on the expensive locks like multilocks. sucks to to buy one and see you didnt get all the pins you paid for
There are a few short euros with 4 pins. Mostly though, the length beyond what is needed for the pins (typically 5, 6, or 7, makes little difference to length needed) is extra brass, including a brass rod to fill the otherwise empty length of plug tube. Brass, like all copper alloys, is now expensive, so some longer euros are priced higher.
