thank you for your responses so far. i have researched this lock for several hours today and it appears to be the 8 pin-row version of the lock meaning that i dont believe my 3 years of experience have any chance against it. is there any other way i can beat this lock. this is the lock on my dorm room and i have the key so i can practise any ideas that any of you have, either way i pay for the lock this year so im not too concerned about damaging it. another interest i have (which i have never tried) is: does anybody know how i can take my key and copy it myself? i have tried many home-made things in the past few days and this topic very much interests me. i have found kits online to take moulds and such but i would like to try it myself and be creative first. (gives me that "i have created a masterpiece" feeling rather then that "ok ive followed the steps and surprise surprise, here it is feeling) any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you very much

how does it work and what can i do to beat it?
