Well that's not that bad as there are only 5 different lever lifts in a Securefast anyway!

Thanks evored, actually i didnt know that so thanks a lot, they are not somthing ive come across or fit but have 5 locks in stock just incase because as you know theres nothing worse than not having the correct lock in stock when you need it (round here my customers seem to demand replacement like for like :? even if its a 3 lever :roll: )

may help you on your way with a decoder;

safe ventures used to do an invincible plastercine decoder, which was pulled in favour of the current decoder , not because they make more money on the decoder, but because the plastercine kit was too unreliable.

one of the main problems being that the new invincible levers required thicker pins ( shamfered) , the old pins were too thin and often went between levers and got stuck or failed to open the lock , even with the correct combination, making it a very hit and miss tool, safeventures dont like their name linked with an unreliable tool, so radicaly changed the design to its current format, which is 100% in under 5 mins every time.

a good plastercine kit may work, but you will need to spend time on the make up key and pins, i suspect the make up key and pins would have to be like the profit kit, in order to be more reliable, still ht and miss in comparrison to the decoder.

Thanks for that Pinky,

I have used square wire for my home brew profit kit, i might do the same for an invincible one.

or if you've got a portable key cutter then use some depth gauges and just cut a key from your impressioning information, even if you weren't sure of the exact bitting, ie one of two possibles, then cut the bigger first then cut it down if its wrong.

shrub, i'm curious about your square pin system, are they just a good fit in a morticed trench in the key tip? or have you cut a groove or something from the tip with a small grub screw to tighten the grip on the pins? or a magnetic section to help hold them?

I cant take credit for my design as ive copied the SV style,

I have a solid rod that has a knurled thumb turn on one end and a slot going through the bar for the length of a blade, the very tip as you say has a bolt in the end,

You do your impression, measure the cuts, insert the square wire bits that correspond to the measurements you have just taken, tighten the bolt and you have a working key that can be put in a key machine as well,

As i have recentally been reminded, instead of having that part at all you could just cut either the impression key (i can get a good enough impression off a totally unmodified key!) or use your depth keys or code machine to just cut another key but in that instance i find that the customer expects the keys for free so i open with a tool and offer to cut a set of keys if required at extra cost.
