Make sure your picks are the same as the templates otherwise you will have problems, see what your pick looks like against the working key, grind a little off it where its too big.

Your padlock must be a bigger keyway.

One last question: If I use a half-hook, could it solve my problem?

If you mean one thats not as long then yes it may help but i can get a full size hook in that sort of keyway.

Dont forget you may actually be slightly lifting the pins on inserting a pick anyway depending on how low they fall in the lock when no key is in.

Find the lowest cut on your key and see if your pick will go under that cut by just holding the pick next to the key, put a matchbox either side of the key and see if you can get your pick under each cut without moving one of the match boxes, if you hit either one due to too much angleing then yes you need a differant pick.

Try a dimound or somthing.

I diassembled the lock and... I understood
the problem is not about the pick!

I chose a difficult lock when I bought it. The 5th pin should be deep set to reach the sheer-line while the 4th pin should be high set.

But the actual problem is:
The 5th pin is far longer than others, since it is deep set. Thats why there is a very little space between the warding and the 5th pin. As a result I can't make my full hook enter this distance without applying too much pressure!

On the other hand, from what I learned, I know that I need a full hook to set that deep set pin behind high set pins...

I'm really confused!

A bit more difficult than a standard US Kwikset key way, but nothing extraordinary for warding. A set of slim line picks will go a long way to help you pick the lock. I have no problem with standard Peterson picks on Yale key ways which are the same as that, if not it's close. Good luck .

You are right. The problem is with the height of the hook I think. It can't enter between the length of the 5th pin and the protrusion of the warding. But since it is a deep set pin, It is very difficult to set with short hooks.

But I should find a way by practise.
