some of your locks a very old (w.germany), i have also some locks from that time. older abus plus/granit locks have on the last and the first (under the drill protection disc) a number 6 disc. this is a guarantee, so the blocking-bar can move smoothly. when some tools came out, they modified the number 6 disc to a (i called) butterfly disc or number 7. since that point, butterly discs are placed at the last position. its still a number 6, but the stroke changed, so you can turn the disc beyond the number 6 position. this is because some tools (for example falle) uses the last disc for giving tension. so the tools where changed (long before jaakko & co. made it), now the tools giving tension on the first number 6 disc, then it doesnt matter if i put tension on the last or the first disc. discs on the last and the first position dont using false gates, discs between them with a 6 cut are using false gates. so what they did, they put normal discs with fakes under the drill protection disc, but only discs untill a 5-cut. but not on every lock. this method against picking is more used at bycicle locks (not every model).
since that point, you have (not on every padlock, almost bycicle locks) under the drill protection a disc with a 1 - 5 cut and fakes, and on the last disc a butterfly disc; btw. these discs are shaped and colored.
so the last modification on padlocks came on biginning 2010. now you have on both positions where normally are the number 6 disc, butterfly discs.

hi marco, there are three different types of number 6 cut-discs: - a normal number 6 disc with two fakes - a guiding number 6 disc without fakes - a butterfly number 6 disc without fakes, but changed stroke im sure you have a normal and a guiding number 6 disc in almost every lock you have. the models (from what i know) that changed in biginning 2010 are only padlocks. version 37/... and 89/50 . but i think its also in the smaller 89/40. sometime before, they tested it on some locks, but now its on every version i wrote above. grützi protec

and there is another change at some bycicle locks, but i think it is just for service: the drill-protection disc has now an arrest. if someone rides his bycicle, the disc cannot rotate and later there there is no problem when the owner puts the key into the lock (some people dont know what to do when a disc is misplaced and the key cannot move completely into the lock).

Hi, Today I introduce you a new video. I Hope, you will like this video. This video shows the Abus Granit Power X Plus picked by me. Abus tells us : Abus X Plus is the High-Tech anti-theft for big motobike is better than Abus Plus. Abus Granit Power X Plus 58/140 HB III is High-Tech with more than 1 million key variations and and blocking mechanism for the top protection against picking attacks . In France, It is approuved by all assurances and they are labotaories tested by SRA, FFMS AFNOR, and NF. The price is very High. And yet, it is easy to pick ! Motobikers are duped by makers. The makers and labotaories ought to employ locpickers for to be credible. Here the link of Abus's catolog http://www.abus.de/us/main.asp?ScreenLa ... 318066610mHere the advertising Here the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0wWFqVcWb0The tool look like at Jaakko's decoder tool, but is not the same. See you soon.

Hi, I made a mistake, when I wrote that my padlocks : Abus Granit 37/80, Abus Granit 37/55 and Abus 88/50 hadn't butterfly disc. I never dismantle and I answered too quickly. They have a butterfly disc a the last position, except the three Abus Granit 37/60 See you soon.

I just watched the video and I think that inserting a tool and turning it looks quite easy already... Cheers mh

Hi, Now, I think that you're begining to know to me. And you know, that for me, to pick 1 Abus X Plus is not satisfactory. This time, I picked the tops of Abus Granit X Plus : The Abus Granit Extreme X Plus 59/180 HB 310 It's very, very, very expensive. And yet, it's easy to pick ! I love Abus Plus and Abus X Plus, It's a pleasure to pick them. Well, some of us already think they know, some are not curious (e.g. because they have never seen these locks), nobody is afraid I guess, but - most importantly - there are rules for this site that limit the discussion on high security locks in the public forums - we think that how to open high security bike locks should not be discussed in the public forums. We have "advanced forums" for this, please find more info about them and how to apply here: viewforum.php?f=15Best mh
