I've just bought one of those mini CCTV camera's - fantastic piece of kit. It's now attached to my Letterbox tool - just waiting for a job to use it one.

Not gone for infrared on the camera - it was too cheap to be true. Going to fit a small penlight next to the camera instead.

Why black & white monitor ?.

Look on Ebay - no more than £20 for camera and receiver.

Rockford get yourself an led keyring light for your letterbox tool they light it up brilliant with the camera set up and is easy to attatch and get through the letterbox.

Make sure you get one that stays on permantly as i bought one off ebay that required finger pressure all the time which is no good. Millets do them for about £6 which is a bit dearer but they work fine.

Once i,ve done my course etc. and bought a letter box tool, the camera is next on the list! When i used to do lockout work about five years ago the guy i worked for had a cctv made up. It just made life so much easier! That tiny angle mirror was gone!

I picked up mine from ebay at £19.95+p&p,came from china, then bought myself one of those casio mini-tv's,as long as it's got an AV socket, mine works great and i can keep the tv in my pocket.
If you like using the mirror, which with the practice ive been doing on everybodies houses i know,i cant stand it!,it moves to much, gets caught sometimes just as you get through.
Ive got a freind who cut glass/mirror's and the cost is peanuts, compared to some suppliers we all use,so if you like using the mirror, then pop down to your local glaizer or some double glazing firms have glass/mirror cutting equipment on site, cause of the size require it's not going to cost you more than about £2 at the most.
Im trying to modify the LED light's i bought as well, these come VERY cheap at ebay or down your local saturday markets.
Although there small,we only require the light,trans/wiring,connect that direct to the battery take all the plastic of,hey presto half its size has gone allready, now much easier to tape onto either camera casing or 1 of the stems, just my idea at the moment and have tried, but the light dispurses to wide, its not so direct without the cover.
Anyone else tried this?
