7 and 9 lever mortice locks

Were you successful with your picks?

I was thinking about lever lock picking, and thought I try it out on the old FAS 7/9 lever ones first, since they seems to be fairly cheap and not to complicated.

Using a filed down key blank for tension and piano / welding wire as a pick was my first thought. Would it work?

I really like the FAS 309. Really good that it has bolts going through to apply compression. You can get those for UK locks, but their are no holes in the lock body for them so they have to be spaced at the top and bottom of a vertical, rather than circular escutcheon.

2 questions:

1) Do you think the escutcheon is airtight? Not really picking related, but I'm hoping that as it's Scandinavian they will have paid some attention to airtightness.
2) Does anyone have a picture of the FAS 309 Connect's keep/strike plate?
