About the thumb turn on the house been told of a fire officer there are no regulasions for locks on domestic properties unlike commercial

Does they new BS:8621 cover Scotland?

If it is the final exit from a multi tennented building then it must have a keyless form of exit. i.e. a thumb turn. As here in London (the toilet of the universe) we have many converted houses into flats with communal final exit and the fire regs insist on this, hence the newish BS8621 that allows for a thumb turn.
