I thought it was just a climax but when questioned i got doubts and wasnt so sure :P

Is it just a detector lever?

the detector is a crescent shaped piece of metal on the inside top casing of the lock.
if the wrong key is used or if someone messes with the lock it pivots and locks into a groove in the barrel.
its a pretty neat design, i'll have to save up and but myself one :)

ok, that American Lock is clearly NOT European, and neither is the big chrome one, but I can say that is it at least NOT American.

do we have a general guess the lock thread somewhere around here?

The first lock is a Mul-T-Lock of some kind, possibly Interactive?

The second is a model C70?

Congrats to What, he is the winner on the American Lock C70, that is correct!

*can I ask where you dug up the info?

What is also correct on the Mul-T-Lock. It is a Classic though. C Series #13 1/2 inch shackle shrouded with 2 inch clearance.

Steps:
1. http://www.americanpadlocks.com/search_cat.htm
2. "Search Catalog by Catagory" -> Solid Brass Padlocks- Maximum Outdoor Security
3. Scroll down to "C70 1/2" deadbolt diameter, 7/8" deadbolt clearance"
4. Click 'info' and compare pictures with this: http://www.americanpadlocks.com/item1.asp?int_ID=88

that key does not look like it would work in a pin tumberlock, as some of the cuts do not have a cam angle to lift the pins, and the view of the shackle shows plenty of room for a shim. beyond that, republica is a brand I have not seen, perhaps it is china made for the latin america market. (based on the word republica.)

Inside of keyhole it looks like warded lock - the key is right. i tray to search for a number on the top - no match. i tray iil, itl, 1il, nil, n1l but nothing.

Looks like a modern version of a Scandinavian (disc) padlock. The key bow is a copy of the Zeiss Ikon pattern. Never seen one of these before - thanks for posting :)

You mean AVA? Yes, from the keyway I'd have said AVA, but the key looks completely different.

@Charlie511: If it's a warded lock, did you pick it so far?
