the rw3 will say it cant copy, you hit copy anyway and it does, the old ETA1 will say cant read, keep at it as often it does in the end. no tinkering needed mate. just dont always believe the machine when it says cant copy or cant read.

OBD now have new vag pin extraction and bmw key on freelander 75

have been reading this thread with intrest so will give you some input
as to what happens down under

i have a $45 dollar callout (17.78 pounds)
and $16.50 (6.50 pounds) per 15 mins (i.e $66 an hour) or (26 pounds an hour)
as such a customer will pay a minimum of $61.50 (i.e callout and 15mins labour) or (24.30 pounds)

this goes up to 90 an hour and 60 service call after hours i.e. 5.30pm till 7.30am

We don't do "free" jobs if we cant do an NDE because customers would give us about 2 mins to open it NDE then demand a drill/free job (not like the movies thinking comes in here). On the other hand it could take two hours to open a lock (which all the time would need to be charged for) vs. a drill open time of say 4 mins plus cost of new lock (still cheaper this way)!! I can see the thinking here and most of the time you would 'win' and open the lock in good time however i have found that this is not always the case and sometimes you wont 'win' and in fact it will cost you to much $$ and time (which is also $$)

Over here if we say to customer "this price includes service call and an hour labour" then we can legally have to stay an hour or alter price to reflect actual time spent. Hence if job takes only 30 minutes but our minimum fee included an hour labour then we still have to provide another 30 mins of labour because thats what the customer is paying for.

Mortice locks are expensive to bring all the way here but are priced as follows

chubb 114 $125 or 49. 40 pounds
union red case non bs $70 or 28 pounds

euro cly are $28 or 11 pounds
abloy protec euro are around 45 pounds

generally we mark up prices %100 plus gst or in your case plus VAT
