...............YELLOW PAGES

Postby 0161 locksmiths » 26 Jan 2006 14:40

hi everyone i had the yellow pages rep out today in regard to me renewing my adverts i asked the rep if they are they going to stop companys advertising .............in front of their names and he promised me that from may 2006 that this was going to stop and that they will list companys by taking account of the first three letters im sure this wont make any difference as now everyone will probably start their name using aaa first but time will tell ive decided this year to take pinkys advice and will be putting three smaller adverts in the manchester south locksmith section it seems to work better for him so i will give it a go.

Is your company 0161 Locksmiths? If so how do you stand with the numbers in the "new improved "format?
Dont know how 3 different ads work for Martin but down here i cant imagine it working too well unless of course you have some kind of deal going with them like RF or AE! If i was to do it i would just have 3 small ads on page 5!
Im seeing my rep tomorrow,i actually enjoy meting them now, gives me a chance to let off a bit of steam(and theres a lot to let off right now beleive me!)

In my Thomson local directory they have seemed to adopt the new idea of listing adds in the corect order ie not useing the 00aa format and RF are the 3rd add in but yellow pages are still useing the same system but RF are only 16th in on the listings for my area.
Someone has to be first and last in the directory and its just a matter of choice on who gets the job and a lot of this is down to the fact of someone being able to take the call in the first place....
There is always a solution to a problem and a way in without destruction !!!!!

Thompsons work on the principle of who spends most gets nearest the front, then if 2 are spending the same its who was first.Rf are in my thompsons but have taken out a full page ad but made it look like 2 seperate ads so they get the best of both worlds.
