WENDT BLADES

Postby 0161 locksmiths » 11 Apr 2006 5:56

hi everyone i bought the hpc pick gun about 12 months ago and not really used it that much as the standard picks with the gun were forever getting stuck in the keyway.last weekend i went to the expo at telford where i got talking to the salespeople on one of the stands they were selling both the wendt gun and the hpc and i told him the problems i was having with it i ended up taking his advice and bought the wendt blades for my hpc since swapping to these blades ive tried every rim cylinder and upvc euro i have in stock and its opened them in all in under a minute i wish id done this 12 months ago

Can you describe the difference between the blades?

Are the Wendt blades just thinner?
I.e. maybe I could just file down the original blades a little bit? (That's what I wanted to try, but wasn't sure if there's more to the Wendt blades)

Thanks,
mh

its just just the thin blades from wendt, but the number of different rake and pick blades that work very well on the guns, ive found different makes of lock prefer certain blades.
these will improve your opening successes 60% on hpc gun and 90% on wendt gun.

With my manual gun, and even with wide open american keyways, Ive had much better success if I finsh and polish the blade much in the same manner raimundo recommends for picks. IE you start with this cross section [] and sand and and polish (until it shines like a mirror) to this cross section (). Hope this helps.

How often do you guys out there use your Wendt pick gun ?
Have you had any problems with the battery yet ?
I've only had mine back from being repaired a few weeks and the battery is going again !! I've only charged it twice and its barely holding the charge.

I've had my Wendt for nearly a year now, used near enough daily and no problems at all.

Can anyone here tell me how the Wendt gun compares to the HPC electric pick; on the Multipick site there is quite a big difference in price, I wondered if this is reflected in the quality of the workmanship and it's effectivness in the field at opening locks.

The wendt gun works very well and beats the hpc. If your having problems with the battery are you sure its not the charger ? Maybe the charger isnt working properly and only charging it a little ?
