Union Knobset

Postby haribo » 19 May 2006 14:01

I have an eviction for a Housing assoc on monday the property has a Union Knobset on the only entrance. I imagine it will be an easy pick with my trusty eletric pick but can this be slipped easliy or is there a autodeadlocking feature? as i bought some TFG from multipick a while ago because it looked nice and shiny and fancy giving it a go. If anyone wants to PM any techniques or advice on these that would be great.

Ive seen quite a few union 1332/1334 double throw on housing assoc doors. An easy pick but you need to pick it 3 times to fully retract the bolt and latch if deadlocked.

Cheers Toomush I went to the job yesterday the tennant had scarpered and left the door unlocked! so easy job. fitted new lock and also new mortice from fresh. I know that you can replace the core on the knobsets but cant find anyone that supplies them tried duffells etc they only stock the complete lock. I picked the old knobset when i got home quite easy with feather touch on tension

Sort of job you didnt want to hang around at as ex tennant could return and apparently he is a bit of an animal. Fitting a mortice is bad enough while looking over your shoulder.

Sorry Chris I missed your post. Yes some are disc but managed to get away with a Wickes version. Cant do it all the time because of the varying backets of the union but this one luckily was ok.
