Strange key

Postby Sindbadd » 9 Jun 2006 11:21

Hello!
I have this strange looking key , and i was wondering if it is possible somehow to lockpick this kind of lock (im sure in 99% the key is from padlock)

Thanks in advance and regards

That's for a lever lock... or a slim possibility of a warded lock.

I wrote a guide about lever locks, that can be found stickied in the locks section. :)

Another possibilityis that the key is for luggage, eg: suitcase or steamer trunk

not high security

could be some sort of mailbox key, not high security, since when these types of locks are made for hs, the length of the key puts room for thicker plate in there. the first cut from the bow is called the throat cut, and is a ward pass cut, the other cuts near the tip are for levers.
