Postby london_lad » 13 Jun 2006 14:37

All

Can anyone tell me the best bump mallet to use and the best place to buy online. I have heard that tomahawk are a good one to buy but thought i'd ask some expert opinions on here first.

Cheers :D

You cant buy a tomohawk.

You can buy kebumps which are a tomohawk copy, have a search around site for the thread or alternitivley look for any thread made by omikron and click the links in his sig line.

THIS is your best link.

I picked up an impact driver at Princess Auto for $4.00 and took it apart and use the shaft you hit with the hammer as a mallet. Works like A charm.

I even like the bell like ring when striking with it as the stainless steel it is made of has a nice tune to it.

I still wouldn't call it heavy metal ha ha  :P .

I use a 3/4" copper pipe, it makes a not so nice ring upon impact. That didn't bother me when practicing but at 3 am in a condo complex, let's say I had the opportunity to meet several of this guy's neighbors. ( I use bumping after failing at conventional meathods)
