Installing a euro lock in Canada

I am from Canada, and I have a couple of euro locks, and there's one I would like to install on my front door, but the format isn't the same.

My question is, do I need to buy a euro socket to fit the lock into the door ? I did a cheap search on google and didn't find anything, but I guess I can ask here if you don't mind.

What do you mean?.....this seems quite vague?

Euro locks vary...are you talking about Euro cylinder mortice locks (presumedly)? ....sometimes known by their teardrop shaped (yeoke) cylinders.

They install in the regular fashion with either a morticing machine or drill with spade bits.

This is the kind of lock I would be installing a wooden door. It would be quite hard to carve out this shape. Also, does the deadbolt mechanism work the same as in a non-euro mortise cylinder ?

It's a standard Euro mortice lock.....the fitting is quite simple ....just use the template that comes with the lock....I think its a 3/4 spade bit for the cylinder (upper portion) and a 3/8 spade bit for the bible (lower portion), the lower portion will require two holes....then simply use a small rasp to shape the cylinder hole....afterward install an escutcheon plate to cover any irregularities

It depends on the model of your lock and the required backset....but have allok at this site:
