I understand that to be true the old BS3621(1998) with 14mm bolts is no longer BS rated for insurance approval

Your are correct, the locks no longer meet the new BS requirements but are tolerated by the insurance companies as of now, if you are doing a new fit make sure its a new BS one which as you say in the ERA range is the fortress,

profit can no longer be sold as bs locks, as the new bs rating now exists, yet the old BS3621-1998 are still insurance approved for the immediate future.
so you have no issues in fitting these at present , some insurers only insist upon a BS3621 lock fitted, which can be the 1980 , 1998 or 2004 rating as all are bs locks.
Though they must carry the kitemark , you will find that newer profit and invincible no longer carry the kitemark so wouldnt carry a bs rating of any kind.

To add to this topic re: British Standards.

Here is a link to the Door and Hardware Federation, who work closely with the manufacturers and the security trade associations.
The website contains in-depth information, and there's a lot of it.
