Note: The standard non-slimline versions of the picks also work fine on UK locks. I have used the standard size ones for a while now and found that 95% of the time they work fine.

Garbit,
The standard lock pick set will open pretty much all UK locks including Yales which do have tiny key ways.
Some people actually prefer the standard lock picks and have more trouble with the slim line.
Don't panic if you think you've ordered the wrong one. PM me or email me if you want to change the order.

Seriously though as I said in my PM the MPXS-11 is only £4 more and you get 3 tention wrenches plus a double-sided slimline pick so you get the best of all worlds.

Are yale locks easily picked or able to be picked using standard sized lock picks?

Yale are getting on for the top end and hard to pick locks because they have 2 security pins.
Until you understand how the pins work you will have a hard time understanding when a security pin gives a fake set.
The standard set will pick these but it is tight (I tend to use the half diamond as the hook is too big)

Take Quin's advice and don't start learning on proper "Yales", get yourself a "Bird" or "Ross" cylinder to start learning what you're doing. Yales are not the best beginners lock - if you've get a false set on the Yale you won't be able to feel the difference.
sledgehammers make excellent back up picks!

All parcels are sent recorded delivery. If they lose the order I send another parcel and then I claim the loss from Royal Mail.
