I would like to know this too. I want to eventually start working with these lever/mortice locks with some of the tools I've been eyeing thats sold on Multipick-Service.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

errm, you can get booklets on identification, but mainly for drilling purposes so not really avaliable for free,

if you get some pics im sure me an other poeple from the uk, an other places that deal with them can help,

normally the colour an style of the body an certain features give it away...

Have you any supplier catalogues like Duffells/Citysafe/Aldridge etc. Look in there for pics of mortice locks, together with some relevant dimensions. Or look online on lock supplier websites.

Unless your locks are really old and discontinued, you should have some joy, or at least be given clues to the more unusual locks you have.

regards

I've just refurbished about ten locks in a house (all internal) so doors could be locked shut during a party with 80 guests. None of the locks had brand names but they did all have one or two patent numbers on them. You may find your locks have some sort of identification number which can be traced too.

horsefeathers, i tried various sites and catalogs but no joy except for a chubb 3u74. i think they're too old and not stocked anymore.

caffn8me, there are no marks on any of the locks.

ill take some pics soon and post them here, im sure theres enough old timers here to id them
