6 Pin yale - lets see whats inside...

Postby Olson Burry » 7 Oct 2008 14:55

Hello. Some of you may have read my thread regarding a brand new 6 pin "high security" Yale lock I bought for £17.50 a week or so ago.

I managed to pick it in under 2 minutes and expounded a bit about it here

Anyway, seeing as im sure you're all dying to know what's inside, I took the step today and got it apart, not an easy decision I must admit but there we are.

Without further ado, here it is:

I present to you all the bits, including an unexpected surprise, the anti drill ball-bearing from the front.

We can see it contains 3 spools I suppose you'd call them, and 2 steel pins for which I dont know the exact purpose. I assume it's to frustrate drilling.

Now all that remains is to put this bad boy back together! It is a wonderfully made lock with very low lolerances, I may even put it on my door if I can get it to work again.

Happy pickin', happy daze.
