Aout 1 year Mottura change his pump lock.

Before there were 1 central spring for all the 6 pump as you can see.

Now there is always a central spring to push the tension bar but each pump as a spring.

As you can see too the core change on the new lock so that it's more difficult to take the measurment of the gap to decode the lock.

There's a write-up of the Mottura pump lock in my book, with a photo of the key. Click on my sig for a reference.

This kind of looks like it, but I could be wrong and it's a pretty bad picture.

Fredmad - thanks for the photos. I wonder why Mottura changed the design to put individual springs on the sliders?

I also have a anecdote to share. I got the Mottura pump lock from a locksmith in Paris some years ago when I was travelling and didn't have a lot of extra luggage capacity. I asked the guy at the shop for a screwdriver so I could just take the cylinder off the lock. To my surprise, the cylinder did NOT come off - it was joined somehow to the front plate of the lock. This was quite annoying, since I didn't want to have to carry the extra metal. At any rate, the shop guy was happy since I left him the rest of the lock (bolt assembly, etc), which he no doubt used for spare parts.
:)

cheers
