Cisa Astral disection

This is an old cylinder I had lying around , that I never used. Its interesting enough to take appart. Its a dimple lock.

This is the cilinder

Close up of the key. Notice the 2 rows of cuts

These are all the parts in the cylinder. I originally thought top row of pins would be passive pins , but they are active pins with their own springs and bottom pins. Also notice the difference in lenght of the bottom pins. And the difference in lenght of the springs in the primary pinstack.
Notice the small diameter of the plug. It has to be this small to fit all springs.

Detail of the pins and springs
From here you can see that the bottom* pins for the top row are dished , to save space

This pic shows both plugs with pins and key fitted.
I took another picture that showed the plug when photographed from the top , but its overlit and you can't see anything on it. It was suppost to show that the 4 holes at the top of the plug match the center 4 holes at the bottom. In the factory , these cilinders are probably put together that way.

Image

This last pic shows the rest of the parts of the cilinder. Here you can clearly see the very small bore. The holes for the pins are vissible from this angle. Also , check out the aggressive look of the circlips. I've never seen anything like it.

Interesting lock. have you tried picking it? looks like it could be difficult with the spools and the keyway not allowing much room for the pick shaft.

I tryed picking it , but without good results. The keyway is quite narrow , so when I was picking the bottom row of pins , I will , no doubt have overset the top row.

That is very likely.
Cisa and Abus share a lot of locks.
The Abus Top Securtity , that I have lying around is identical to a Cisa SP. I'm gonna take that lock apart soon too.
